My name is Rebecca (or Becca) and God has given me an amazing story.

I raise money for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). In 2007 I raised $5,000. I was amazed in 2008 that we raised nearly $8,000. I could have never imagined that in 2009 we as a team raised $15,000. For 2010 we raised over $15,000 again!!!!! That is over $40,000 in just four years. Amazing. Thank you everyone as I could not do this without you.
Thankful
Those of us who have diabetes have to learn to accept our disease. If I had to get diabetes, I rejoice that I live in the United States in 2010. Only a hundred years ago, insulin treatment was non - existent. A standard treatment was starvation. Only 50 years ago, there was no way for people to check their own blood sugars and then to be able to treat them precisely. Only 25 years ago, there were virtually no diabetic pumps. And, even today, in most countries of the world, these things are not available to children with diabetes.
How grateful I am to be in this time and in this place. Many people who have diabetes do not have access to good doctors and medical equipment. Many children do not have parents, siblings, family and friends to surround them with love and support and care and help. How grateful I am to be in this time and place.
How grateful I am for medical research, a loving family and God watching over me!
